Goofy for Google, Babies & BETA...
There's so much it is hard to take in and it makes one's brain spin. Big Brother Is Watching You? Does that mean NSA and government data mining? Wonder where that term came from? It came from George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four, written before 1950 but you can read about it here on Google Book Search and see where, on the same page, you can read where "only the Thought Police Mattered." Where will this road take us?
Google Reader? This isn't even on the Google Play Page but our new media class had us playing with it as one of the feed readers "to keep up with your ever-expanding list of content from across the web." It is so new still that it has BETA written right up there with the name, just like Google Book Search does. Google Earth? Not BETA. Google Sketch Up --brand new BETA 3-D modeling program. Google Scholar? Yep, BETA.
Well, go look up BETA on Wikipedia. Look up BETA on Webster's. One can't find the term description/definition which means "early release, kinks still being worked out," when it is applied to apps, right? MotherPie is in BETA. Embryos and babies are in BETA. Well, let's see. Aren't we all? Then an application gets numbered. So toddlers are in 1.0, teenagers are in 2.0, when you are in your prime you are 5.0 and when you hit 10.0 you...begin again?
Alpha, Beta, Omega. One, two, trillion. BETA go now.
