I used to wonder, (when I'd wonder at all),
If being a mother made the 'ME' part real small.
It really is true and I KNOW IT as fact:
The eyes in the back of moms heads are exact.
The mothering instinct has been honed and refined
with love that encompasses the heart and the mind.
So I no longer wonder, nope, not all all,
if the love of a mother - makes one big or real tall.
Mothers give and they give and they give even more
and sometimes they wonder just what it is for...
It's not for a paycheck or little gold stars
or a title or trophy or har de har hars.
With babies grown tall, take this (from a Mrs.)--
I'm TALLER THAN ALL with their hugs and their kisses!
Illustration: Bobi is a French painter and illustrator. The image is from Flickr: il arrive un moment and the artist's website, bobibook.blogspot.com, is full of whimsical and fabulous illustrations. There's a French philosophique that has a certain je ne sais quois appeal. Perhaps a cross between Sartre and Antoine de Saint Exupery with a dash of innocence lost.
