With stories of Secret Service men showing up knocking on dorm doors because of things that teenagers are writing in the social spaces online, parents have been concerned and polling has shown that parents want the service providers to take some of the responsibility. Rupert Murdoch's News Corp, new owner of MySpace, has removed 200,000 "objectionable" profiles from its site in efforts to calm fears about the safety of the network for young users.
