Rambling on Roots and Old Things...
OLD MEN'S TIES: Into prom queen dresses or prom dresses of any kind? Here's an idea of how to do a dress from neckties. Collecting used prom dresses and offering them for re-use is a nifty idea. I don't have links or I'd post them. My school didn't have a prom. Popularity de-emphasized. But a nice way to eco-dress from all those old ties. The sewing machine, yep. One more thing that got thrown out in the move to NYC. Use it or lose it. It's gone.
OLD TIES TO PLACES AND PEOPLE... Do you remember the song, "Make New Friends, but Keep The Old... Some are Silver and the Others Gold?" Maybe its me and all my moves but I'm sure discovering as I get older that this is very true. Old friends are as comforting as that old sweatshirt, Mama's Chicken Spaghetti (the latter is why my husband married me, I think...) and hot chocolate on a snowy day. I treasure my time in the places of my youth, and young adult years and the good friends I made then.
Crownless Cheers from the Ready-Made Queen of Take-Out Meals! (oh, some things about NYC are fab, fab, fab).
