An old movie, Jesus, released in 1979, a then-bust Warner Bros. release, has been shown in 235 countries, translated into nearly 950 languages, and viewed by a worldwide audience of perhaps 3 billion, according to the Jesus Film Project of Campus Crusade for Christ.

NEW Inspiration for Life-Long Learning and Good Friends: A 91 year-old Australian man said "time was of the essence" in completing his work a year ahead of schedule to receive a law degree. Learning to use the internet was his biggest challenge. Another example of active learning and deciding to decide to think of oneself in the prime of life, not old age. Having good friends... important, too, for longevity as science is showing. The emerging field of neuroscience shows that "mirror neurons" interact on an emotional basis with those we are connected with socially - this from an article yesterday in the NYTimes.
NEW Online Tools Will Make Computer Use Easier: Google's move to online office space will be a challenge to Microsoft and is yet another move to do work online with collaboration abilities. An announcement to be made today -- Google will merge Writely and Spreadsheets to form Google Docs to be at docs.google.com at some time in the future, according to an article by Steve Bryant today in eWeek. The computer will be a gateway to online work environments.

Debates: Private or Public School - Which Works Better is the discussion today on the WaPo On Balance blog, spurred by a recent WSJ article, Opting Out of Private School (educational consultants and academics see more parents opting into public schools). I've just had two friends of college age boys tell me they would not do private school if they had to do it over again and they know of more concurring moms...
