Finally found: a milagro for a leg. When hobbling in a boot cast, giving docent talks at the International Folk Art Museum in Santa Fe in front of the newly restored milagro exhibit, I realized I didn't have a lucky charm for healing.
Alexander Girard's world-wide collection of milagros have been reinstalled after ten years of being in storage and are a centerpiece of the main hallway.
Milagros are easy to find in Santa Fe since they came here with the Spanish Conquest. Unless you are in need of a specific one. I laughed that I couldn't find one. Then... a friend found one for me and suddenly my leg started getting better.
Superstition?
The thing about superstition is that they had to start somehow. In this case what's the harm? If it works because you think it does, or because it really does is secondary to the fact that it's working!

What a cool charm! It's the power of positive thinking. Either that or the timing was such that your leg was going to be getting better anyway. ;)

Hey, if it works, of COURSE I believe in superstitions! Why tempt fate??
