The Dow is down over 500 points as I write this on a volatile day, working on my media study of this unfolding historic momentous, tumultuous event that is having all sorts of names starting yesterday when the market closed down 700 points with a steep drop at the end. I was elsewhere so today I'm catching how the media plays this out and working on art, like this one.
The words being thrown about: panic, collapse and meltdown. These are words that the media ignored and as the week has unfurled, the language has become more dire. Or, I find by reading a blog from a writer in France, Serrez les feses which isn't quite like Hold Your Horses.
Crisis in Confidence. Crisis in Credit. Worst Crisis Ever.
